Originally from Cleveland, Ohio Heather Mills began dancing with a passion at the age of four and has never stopped! Heather grew up studying with renowned artists and teachers including Artour Bajanov, of the Moscow Ballet Theatre, Bashkirian State Ballet and Bolshoi; Karen Gabay and Raymond Rodriguez of Ballet San Jose; Joanne Morscher of North Coast Ballet Theatre; and Ana Lobe of Ballet National de Cuba. She attended Summer Intensives around the country including BalletMet, American Ballet Theatre and Point of Departure. During her training Heather was a member of two youth ballet companies: Civic Youth Ballet of Cleveland at Lisa Wilhelm Academy of Dance where she studied with Artour Bajanov and The Royal Youth Ballet Company where she studied under the direction of under Joanne Morscher.
Heather received a dance scholarship to attend Mercyhurst College where she earned her BA in Dance Management in 2011 under the direction of Tauna Hunter. Upon graduation she danced professionally with The Ballet Theatre of Maryland in Annapolis for three seasons under the direction of Dianna Cuatto. Heather moved to Tampa in 2014 to join Tampa Ballet Theatre. As well as dancing for the company Heather also takes on the role of Fundraising Executive. Professionally, Heather has performed multiple roles in classical, neo-classical, and contemporary pieces such as Alice in Wonderland, Coppelia, Dancing Princesses, Firebird, Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Primal Dreams to name a few. Some of Heather’s favorite roles to date include the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland and Juliet from the beloved ballet Romeo and Juliet. She has taught and choreographed ballet, pointe, tap, jazz and contemporary at schools around the country including Lisa Wilhelm Academy of Dance, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Rizing Starz Dance Academy and Tampa Bay Ballet. Heather is thrilled to be part of Tampa Ballet Theatre for yet another wonderful season!
