Tampa Ballet Theatre Named Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Resident Ballet Company

Tampa Ballet Theatre is Ruth Eckerd Hall’s new Resident Ballet Company.

Tampa Ballet Theatre has been given a whole new spotlight to shine under. Monday, Ruth Eckerd Hall announced Tampa Ballet Theatre as its new in-house ballet company at the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Murray Theatre. Through this partnership, Tampa Ballet Theatre will be bringing its classical and contemporary productions to be performed at Ruth Eckerd Hall, including The Nutcracker. Tampa Ballet Theatre, and the affiliated school Tampa Bay Ballet, will also be working with the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts to offer several ballet classes at all levels of experience during the fall and spring semesters.

Hoffman School of the Arts,” said Lindsay Clark, Artistic Director of the Tampa Ballet Theatre. “The opportunity that this partnership brings to the community abroad and everyone involved is endless.”

Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc. is a 501©3 nonprofit organization that manages and operates the Richard B. Baumgardner Center for the Performing Arts, the Capitol Theatre and other related off-site programs such as Ruth Eckerd Hall On The Road and Friends of Music. Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc.’s mission is to engage the community to explore, discover, experience and master quality performing arts. Richard B. Baumgardner Center for the Performing Arts is owned by the City of Clearwater and operated by Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc., includes the 2,200-seat Ruth Eckerd Hall, the 200-seat Murray Studio Theatre, the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts and the 5,500 sq. ft. Margarete Heye Great Room. The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts encompasses four distinct arts education divisions: producing, presenting, instruction in music, theater, dance and jazz and Career Training in Theater Technology.

Tampa Ballet Theatre is a 501©3 non-profit professional ballet company in the Tampa Bay Area and has been since 2012. The mission of the Tampa Ballet Theatre is to educate, entertain, and broaden the outlook of the community through the world of classical and contemporary ballet. The company prides itself in preserving the classical masterpieces of previous centuries while creating new contemporary and classical productions for the Greater Tampa Bay area. Tampa Ballet Theatre engages itself in community functions to help give back to the community through the art of ballet and lending a structural support for the arts.
